Records and lookups

Searchable records are created through the Civilian view. A person exists because somebody made a character. A vehicle exists because somebody registered it.

A community's records start empty. See the civilian side.

The four pages

QUERY searches people, vehicles and firearms and shows the result. See running a query.

BOLOS is the active board, carrying both BOLOs raised by hand and warrants activated through report review. See BOLOs.

HISTORY is the archive of cleared calls with their logs. See call history.

REPORTS has its own section.

All four appear in the header in the patrol and dispatch views. None are available from the civilian view.

How the pieces relate

A search produces a return, which is a snapshot of the record at the time you asked. Returns are private to the unit who ran them.

Attaching a return to a call shares it. It then appears on the call detail under RECORDS for everybody working that call. See system returns.

Flags attach to the record rather than the return, so they follow the person or vehicle. Anyone who runs that record afterwards sees them. See flags and notes.

BOLOs and warrants also appear on returns. A person with an active warrant shows it in their return, on the BOLOs board and in their flags.

Warrants come from reports

An officer files a warrant report, a supervisor approves it, and the warrant becomes active at that point.

Cancelling one is also done from the report. See warrants.

What a unit can change

Any unit in the operational view can add and remove person flags, add person notes, raise a BOLO and add record flags to a vehicle or firearm.

Clearing or editing another person's BOLO requires supervisor standing, as does approving reports.
