Call history
Every cleared call with its log, filtered by date, call type or disposition, and how history relates to reports.
HISTORY holds calls that have been cleared. Open calls remain on the CAD screen.
The list
Columns read CASE #, TIME, TYPE, LOCATION, UNITS and DISP. Newest cleared first, up to 100 rows.
UNITS shows every unit attached at any point during the call. DISP shows the disposition chosen when clearing.
Filtering
DATE takes a single day and matches the day the call was created rather than the day it was cleared.
TYPE matches partially against the call type, so TRAF finds TRAFFIC STOP.
DISP matches partially against the disposition.
FILTER applies them. A CLEAR button appears once any filter is set. Filters persist while you move around the site.
The detail panel
Selecting a row fills the right panel, titled with the case number.
TYPE, LOCATION, PRIORITY, DISPOSITION, CREATED and CLEARED sit in a grid at the top. DETAILS shows the description when one was entered.
CALL LOG lists every call note in order, oldest first, each with its time and the callsign of the author.
Nothing in a cleared call is editable.
What the log contains
The log is built from notes added while the call was live. A call worked without notes shows "No log entries", and the record then holds the case, the units and the disposition but no account of what happened. See working a call.
History and reports
They are separate. Clearing a call does not create a report, and filing a report does not clear a call.
Reports can pull a call in. SEARCH CALLS in the report toolbar loads recent calls to import from, and IMPORT ACTIVE CALL imports the call you are currently attached to. See filing a report.
