Working a call as a unit
Attaching to a call, marking en route and on scene, adding call notes, detaching, and the disposition prompt when you are the last unit.
Selecting a call in ACTIVE CALLS opens it in the middle panel. What you can do depends on whether you are attached.
Attaching
ATTACH appears when you are not attached and self dispatch is available. See self dispatch.
Once attached
The button row shows ATTACHED as an indicator, then EDIT CALL, EN ROUTE, ON SCENE, DETACH and CLEAR CALL.
EN ROUTE and ON SCENE set your status on the call and your unit status together. Whichever you last selected shows as the active button.
EDIT CALL opens the call type, priority, location and details.
Call notes
CALL NOTES on the right of the detail panel is the running log for the call.
Each note is stamped with the time and the callsign of the author. Notes become the CALL LOG on the history record once the call is cleared.
Unsaved note text remains in the box while the screen updates, and the list stays on the newest entry unless you have scrolled up.
The rest of the detail panel
LOCATION shows the location as it was entered. ROUTING shows the department, any requested subdivision and whether a supervisor is required. UNITS lists everyone attached with their status, with the primary unit badged PRIMARY.
RECORDS appears when a query return has been attached to the call. Each is a button that opens that return. See system returns.
TTS DISPATCH shows the state of the radio announcement when your community has that enabled.
Detaching
DETACH removes you and leaves the call open.
As the last unit on a call you are asked "You are the last unit on this call. Add a disposition and clear it, or keep it open?" ADD DISPOSITION & CLEAR opens the disposition box. KEEP OPEN detaches you and leaves the call unassigned.
Clearing
CLEAR CALL requires a disposition from a dropdown.
Clearing removes the call from ACTIVE CALLS for everyone and files it in call history, where the disposition becomes one of the filters.
