Getting started
Getting started with PlateNet
What you need before your first sign in, how access codes decide what you can open, and where each of the four views lives.
PlateNet runs in a browser tab.
What you can open depends on the community you belong to and the access code that put you in it. A code issued for patrol opens the unit CAD. A code issued for dispatch opens the dispatch console.
What you need first
An access code from the community you are joining. Community owners generate these.
Every path that grants access asks you to confirm you are at least 18.
The order things happen in
- Redeem an access code and create your account on the same form. See creating an account and joining a community.
- Save the recovery code you are shown once.
- Sign in. See signing in and password requirements.
- Choose a view from the Portal. See the Portal and the four views.
- In patrol or dispatch, set your callsign and department.
The four views
Patrol CAD is the unit view. You set a status, watch the call list and attach to calls. See the Patrol CAD section.
Dispatch is a separate workspace with call control, unit assignment and, when your community has it enabled, a radio console. See the Dispatch section.
Civilian is where characters, vehicles and firearms are created and where emergency calls are submitted. See the Civilian section.
Community Panel is the administration area for departments, access codes and users. See the Community administration section.
Your records
Records remain available across game-server updates and rebuilds.
