Community administration
Community users and permissions
The users grid sets patrol, dispatch, management and supervisor access per member, scoped by department, and is where access is revoked.
The USERS tab is a grid with one row per member. Columns for USER, CALLSIGN, DEPARTMENT, PATROL, DISPATCH, MANAGE, SUPERVISOR and ACTIVE.
Rows are read only until EDIT is pressed on that row.
What the department column controls
PATROL and SUPERVISOR are per department. The department dropdown on the row decides which department those two checkboxes describe, and changing it updates both to show that member's access in the selected department.
DISPATCH, MANAGE and ACTIVE apply across the whole community regardless of the dropdown.
Making somebody a supervisor in one department means selecting that department on their row, ticking SUPERVISOR and saving. Their access in other departments is unchanged.
Granting patrol in a department
Select the department and tick PATROL. Saving adds them to it.
Unticking PATROL with a department selected removes them from that department. If that was their last department, they are no longer a patrol unit.
SUPERVISOR implies patrol access in that department.
Supervisor standing and report review
Supervisor standing is per department and determines which reports a member can review. See reviewing reports as a supervisor.
ACTIVE
Unticking ACTIVE keeps the member in the community and stops their access working.
It cannot be unticked on your own row, which returns "You cannot disable yourself."
Owner and manager differences
Only the owner can grant management access to another member, and only the owner can edit or remove a member who already holds it.
You cannot remove your own management access. The owner row cannot be changed from this panel.
Removing somebody
REMOVE asks "Remove this user from the community?" and takes them out of it. Their Portal no longer shows this community.
Their account and characters remain, as do their reports, BOLOs, person notes and the records they created.
You cannot remove yourself, and you cannot remove the owner.
Callsigns
The CALLSIGN column is read only. It shows what the member set in their own unit profile, or None.
A member showing as NOUNIT on the roster sets their callsign in their unit profile.
